On Thursday afternoon, February 23, the Research and Development Division of the Student Executive Board again held a STIQ Discussion activity in order to train students' critical thinking skills as well as to hone the strength of student arguments. The activity was carried out precisely within a period of one week starting from Saturday, February 18, 2023 until Thursday.
The theme of the discussion was tailored to the needs that are now starting to be urgent in society, namely the discussion of feminism which is increasingly unconstitutional. Therefore, STIQ discussed inviting Ustadzah Rahma Riandani, S. Ag, an alumnus of the first batch of STIQ student Isy Karima who has taken a lot of work in the world of education and family as a guide for the discussion by raising a theme that departs from an Islamic point of view, "Feminism Colonizes Not Liberating".
In the technical implementation, students are divided into 8 teams consisting of members across semesters to conduct independent discussions within a period of 5 days. In this independent discussion activity, each team is required to be able to discuss feminism problems in the fields of socio-politics, government, free speech and household from two different points of view. On day five each new team will get a Pro Islamist or Pro Feminist position as the core of the event on Thursday afternoon.
The event can run well with God's permission and get excellent insights from the various parties involved. Participants felt the benefits of the discussion very carefully because they had conducted a Team discussion before the event on Thursday. In this semi-debate discussion activity, the committee prioritizes the usefulness of the material and customs in the discussion rather than the knockout sparring system as the debate system outside the ma'had.
At the end of the meeting with the supervisor, he gave appreciation to the committee, "This kind of event is very good, and must continue to be done so that students are not negligent, especially during holidays, maybe in the future they can hold fathul polar activities to train even more".
