It is normal to increase weight during adolescence. It is during this time that the child's growth spurt occurs, aka the second fastest growth period after infancy. The Childrens Youth and Womens Health Service (CYWHS) revealed that weight that does not gain during puberty is actually not good for adolescent health.
But this weight gain is a serious concern for teenagers. They often find out how to quickly lose Weight. The obsession with being thin briefly makes them often mistaken in interpreting diet. Diet itself means a menu, that is, to regulate and change eating habits according to needs, not to reduce the number of meals in large quantities.
Initially they went on regular diets such as not having breakfast or dinner, reducing portions of meals, avoiding high-calorie foods, setting meal patterns and menus, and other programs. But after they feel that their weight is not ideal, they will start to avoid eating, and think eating is wrong.
Doing the wrong diet makes you vulnerable to depression, difficulty sleeping or even sleeping excessively, often exhausted, and finally unable to concentrate on activities such as going to school.
The wrong diet can also cause the metabolism in the body to become error, the imbalance of energy needs expended with the energy consumed, and the decrease in body power can lead to deviations or eating disorders, one of which is Anorexia nervosa.
Anorexia nervosa usually occurs in young women at the age of 12 to 25 years. Anorexia nervosa, or commonly called anorexia, is an eating disorder characterized by excessive fear when gaining weight, and impaired perception of body shape. People with anorexia are obsessed with having a thin body, and make various attempts to get the ideal body shape according to them.
People with anorexia have the wrong idea of normal weight, tend to compare their body to that of others, and consciously they choose the wrong path to lose weight which can actually lead to death.
Anorexia can cause serious problems in the body, ranging from low blood pressure, slow heart rate, heart failure, to brittle bones. Anorexia can also lead to death due to malnutrition that damages the body's organs.
We can avoid this anorexia disorder by encouraging self-confidence. If a person has high self-confidence, he will be able to think positively, feel satisfied and grateful for what he has.
In addition, anorexia can also be prevented by going on the right diet. The correct diet is a diet that is not excessive in limiting eating, but regulates a balanced diet so that it will not harm the body.
A good diet is to keep doing breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the right menu. We can still consume carbohydrates by changing the type of simplex carbohydrates ( rice) to better complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, potatoes and wheat. Eat foods that have high nutrition with low calories, reduce the use of salt, mecin, and excess sugar, exercise a lot of light exercise, and drink water as you should, which is 8-10 glasses a day.
Keep the pattern of life from now on, the right attitude can keep us away from Anorexia nervosa.Make diet a lifestyle and lifestyle, then do a diet that is not torturous.
