The eye is one of the gifts God gives to each of His servants. Perhaps not all of His servants are given the function of the eye, but God will certainly give him advantages in addition. It is undeniable that not even a few of His servants are often forgotten to be grateful for this five senses. Whereas with it, we can see the beauty of the world, watch all the events that happen, see what is in front of us, and many other functions that we should be grateful for every time.
This time we will discuss one of the parts that are in the eye, namely the fluid that usually comes out when we feel various emotions in ourselves. Allah said in Sura An-Najm : 43
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ
"And that he is the one who makes people laugh and cry,"
The two things God has mentioned (laughing and crying) have a lot to do with tears. However, frequent crying is more synonymous with tears. Tears are a fluid produced by the acrimal glands of the eyes. It is normal for everyone to shed tears. Even tears came out on a noble man, the Messenger of Allah Shalallahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam. It is spoken from Abdullah ibn al-Shaikhir ra. (which) said, It means : "(one day) I came to the Messenger of Allah Shalallahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam, he was performing prayers and his stomach sounded like the sound of boiling water. This is because he cried". (HR. Abu Dawud). God also critiques His faithful servant in His word,
وَيَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ يَبْكُونَ وَيَزِيدُهُمْ خُشُوعًا ۩
"And they clung over their faces crying and they grew more solemn'." (QS. Al-Isra':109)
It turned out that one of the signs of a believer was also crying. Why is weeping allowed by God? Does it have anything to do with health? The answer is yes. This can be proven scientifically that tears contain chemicals that can be a remedy to relieve stress and deep sadness. Tears also contain chemicals that can dispel the entry of killer germs. Tears of crying time is one of the body's ways to rid itself of toxic materials. For example, salts These salts are sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and other factors that help salt formation. Among them are calcium, bicarbonate and manganese.
Emotional crying can also trigger neuroendocrine mechanisms and the body's immunity. Nippon Medical School in Japan found that people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) joint disease who cry and shed tears generally improved clinically in the span of a year compared to patients who did not shed tears. When sufferers of RA shed tears, the stress hormone cortisol in the blood, immune protein-6, CD4, CD8 and natural killer immune cells. Crying can suppress the influence of stress on NEIR (neuroendocrin and Imuno Response). The results of this research do not necessarily mean that experts tell us to cry so that stress is suppressed. However, crying can relieve stress and then affect NEIR, is a scientific fact.[1]
From the presentation of these scientific facts, it turns out that tears have more functions than we estimate like diamonds that have long hidden benefits in the eyes. It is precisely with the knowledge that we have gained that we should be able to make us more grateful that everything (no matter how small) created by God always has its benefits, never in vain. Therefore, no one forbids the tears to shed for various reasons, much less because of the sadness of the wrongs we have done to God. So, why don't we cry, as long as the cry is still in kindness and usefulness?
